Is there any way to check for sure whether PHP 5.4.28 will be compatible with a fresh install of phpBB 3.0.9?You can just install 3.0.9 however php version of your server software needs to be compatible. AFAIK php 5.3 to 5.6 should be compatible. Older versions of XAMPP with older versions of php can be found on Sourceforge too.
I take it PHP will then need to be upgraded to something newer before making the move from 3.0.9 to the latest version of phpBB?
